Blue Buckkit Productions is a fresh, young, indie film and video company, formed in 2007. Based in the Shenandoah Valley - in the Blue Ridge of Virginia, USA, and with outreach based in the Blue Mountains of Australia, Blue Buckkit got its name from a comical moment during editing of its first major project: the TV series Serenity At Sunrise: Relaxation for Real People during 2007. The series editor accidentally deleted a large chunk of one of the episodes, and the director-presenter, Ranna Lachlan, noticing this as it happened, immediately exclaimed "Stop!" and grabbed the computer mouse and keyboard from the editor who was poised to save the changes and make the loss of footage permanent. During the editor's ensuing consternation while completing "undo" commands in the editing program, to break the tension and lighten the mood Ranna joked "Oh no, they be stealin' mah footege", mimicking the idiom of the very cute walrus-and-bucket online photo saga. The walrus's/ lolrus's stolen bucket (a.k.a. "bukkit") was blue. Stolen blue bukkit... stolen footage...

Blue Buckkit Productions was formally incorporated shortly after.

Befitting these high energy, humorous beginnings and the founder's dual operational locations in the Shenandoah Valley's Blue Ridge of Virginia and the Blue Mountains of Australia, the name Blue Buckkit Productions is intended to convey a sense of an outpouring of bucket-loads of creativity and independent film and video, currently from operational bases with "Blue" in their names. It all ties together.

Blue Buckkit Productions' primary impulse is that its projects must appeal to the founder and director (well, duh!), contribute to the betterment of human life in some way (yes, I'm serious!), be a creative and new take on a subject (you little ripper!), and be totally independent (indie, absolutely!).

Research and a draft script for an independent feature length production are currently underway.
